This is one idea of a healthy way to jump start weight loss if that is a goal for you, or just to get healthy!
You get ONE point per day for:
~drinking 64 oz. of water (you can add lemons or limes for flavor if that helps)
~exercise at least 30 min. (A nice walk can count as exercise for the day. It doesn’t have to be vigorous every time, though I would recommend at least 3 times a week of vigorous exercise.)
~eating at least two servings each of fruits and vegetables
~eating ALL whole grains (no white flour products in things like pasta, bread, cereal, tortillas, etc.)
You LOSE a point per day for:
~each serving of treats
~each serving of sugary beverage. This includes soda, gatorade and other workout drinks. They are mostly sugar anyway. It also includes juice, unless it is 100% juice, hot chocolate, chocolate milk, beer, wine & alcohol. Milk or fruit/veggie smoothies DO NOT count against you).
~each serving of junk food (things like whole grain chips, healthy granola bars, & whole grain muffins DO NOT count against you).
~unhealthy eating out (eating fried or really fatty foods. Salads, grilled or lean meat, and such DO NOT count against you).
~ It is based on a six day a week point system. You have one day a week off and can use it for a special occasion, or any day of the week you want.
~ Keep track of your own points and find a friend to be accountable to, and/or you can use this site to do that! Post your points weekly on Sundays. You can also post if you have lost weight or inches (though this is optional). You don’t have to put your starting and ending weight, just how much you lost.
